Jacky Mathekga Jacky Mathekga

Chief Executive Officer: NMG Benefits

Location: Johannesburg

Jacky obtained his BA Law, LLB and LLM Tax from the University of the Witwatersrand and has extensive management experience in both the public and private sectors, as well as being appointed as a Commercial member of the Tax Court in December 2007.
Previous experience includes serving as the Executive Assistant to the CEO of Ernst & Young (EY), responsible for the Legal, Risk, Company Secretarial and Partner Affairs and an ex officio member of the Executive Committee and Board of EY.

As the Principal Officer of Discovery Health Medical Scheme for a period of six years, Jacky was involved in the development and implementation of the Scheme’s strategy and governance and served as an ex officio member of the Board of Trustees and the Scheme’s various sub-committees. During this time, he also served as a Non-Executive Director on the Board of Healthcare Funders Southern Africa (BHF) and as Deputy Chairperson of the Policy and Regulatory Sub-Committee of the Board of Healthcare Funders.

Jacky joined NMG Benefits as an Executive Director responsible for Business Development in September 2010. In this role, he was responsible for the development of new business opportunities and growth of the organisation. In June 2016, he was appointed as the Chief Executive Officer of NMG Benefits and serves on the Board of Directors of NMG.


Faul la Grange Faul la Grange

Executive Head: Retail

Location: Johannesburg

Faul joined NMG in March 2000 as General Manager of NMG Personal Financial Services and has held several executive roles within the NMG Group since. These roles include; Operations Director of NMG Personal Financial Services, Director of NMG-agency (now NMG Retail), Managing Director of NMG Benefits Namibia, Executive Head of Business Development, Executive Head of NMG Retirement Fund Management Services, and most recently the Executive Head of NMG Retail.

Faul has more than two decades of experience in the financial services industry and is a subject-matter expert in employee benefit program design and management as well as consulting and administration solutions. Faul has led large consulting teams in both the Retirement Fund and Healthcare Consulting arena for NMG Benefits in South Africa as well as NMG Benefits Namibia, and more recently leads a large team of personal financial advisors.

Faul obtained a Bachelors Degree in Human Resource Management and Personnel Administration from the University of Johannesburg and a Honours Degree in Adult Education and Training from the University of the Witwatersrand. Faul also holds a Masters Degree in People and Professional Leadership from the University of Johannesburg. His Masters Dissertation was focused on Leadership Models for Retirement Fund Trustees in the South African Retirement Fund Industry.

Faul also holds a number of industry-related qualifications including a Wealth Management qualification and qualifications in Retirement Fund Consulting and Management from the Insurance Institute of South Africa.


Craigh Chidrawi

Executive Head: Institutional

Location: Johannesburg

Craigh joined NMG in 2018. He is currently the Executive Head: Institutional Business and is responsible for the Retirement Funds Consulting and Actuarial businesses in South Africa and Namibia, as well as the Retirement Fund Administration business.

Craigh Chidrawi has almost three decades of experience in the employee benefits industry. He was previously the Head: Alexander Forbes Retirement Fund for close to 15 years and led the team that grew that umbrella fund from a few billion to approximately R70 billion in assets.

Craigh has a strong focus on people – both clients and their members and the team that he leads. He is passionate about providing excellent service and leads by example. Craigh enjoys being involved in setting strategy for the business.

Craigh has a B.Com in Industrial Psychology from Rhodes University.


Chris Van Wyk

Executive – NMG Healthcare

Location: Johannesburg

Chris joined NMG in March 2018 as the Managing Director of the acquired Cedar Group of companies. With effect from January 2019, Chris took on the role of Head: Healthcare Consulting for NMG Benefits.

Chris has more than three decades of experience in the Healthcare industry, commencing with a position at Sanmed (Healthcare Administrator of the Sanlam Group) in 1990, followed by the creation of his own company (Medi Call) in 1997 which was acquired by the Cedar Group of companies in 2007. Chris subsequently held several Director positions at Cedar until the acquisition of Cedar by NMG in 2018.

Chris obtained a Hons. B Human Movement Studies at Stellenbosch University in 1987 and completed the National Certificate in Wealth Management in 2012 at the Institute of Health Risk Managers.

Chris brings a wealth of knowledge and experience of the Healthcare Industry and the commercials of successfully running businesses.


Wayne Sunker

Executive Head: Corporate and Institutional Sales

Location: Johannesburg

Wayne holds a Post Graduate Diploma (CFP) from the University of the Free State and a MBA from Management College of Southern Africa (MANCOSA).

Wayne joined NMG In March 2018 as Executive Head of the Corporate and Institutional Sales department, responsible for the development of new business opportunities. The Institutional Sales division incorporates healthcare, retirement funding and actuarial consulting solutions. Prior to joining NMG Wayne served at Sasfin as an Executive of Institutional Sales in the wealth division.

He has extensive experience in the financial services industry in which he has dedicated 16 years to Alexander Forbes, in various roles. He specialises in finding employee benefit solutions that best suits the employer.


Nicolette Van Vuuren

Head: Legal, Risk and Compliance and Company Secretary

Location: Johannesburg

Nicci  obtained her BProc Degree from the University of South Africa and completed her articles with Mostert Attorneys in Bryanston, where she specialised in Pension Fund Law. She has extensive experience in Pension Funds and Labour Law which she gained from running a litigation and labour law practice for 8 years.

Nicci joined NMG in November 2015 as the Head of Legal, Risk and Compliance, as well as the Company Secretary. In addition to her Company Secretarial functions, she is responsible for managing a Pension Funds legal team which resides under the Retirement Fund Administration Department.


Gary FeldmanGary Feldman

Regional Director: Healthcare

Location: Western Cape

Gary obtained his BCom Honours degree from the University of Stellenbosch in 1988 and an Executive Marketing Diploma from the UCT Graduate School of Business in 1994. He is a member of the Institute of Marketing Managers and the Financial Planning Institute (FIA), where he serves as an Executive Committee member of the FIA Healthcare Chapter.

During his tenure at Old Mutual, he held various management positions in sales and marketing before joining Glenrand MIB as Regional Director: Benefit Services Cape Town and later as National Manager of the Healthcare Consultants. A position he retained after Glenrand was acquired by Absa Healthcare Consultants.

Gary joined NMG in August 2010 as Regional Director: Healthcare and serves as an Executive Committee member of NMG. Gary is not only responsible for the management of the Healthcare Consultants, but is also responsible for the roll-out of the national strategy in the Regional Office and for the formulation of various strategies and processes that are required to grow the business as well as the value proposition and service offering to corporate clients.


Richard Dennison Gary Feldman

Regional Director: Healthcare

Location: Kwazulu-Natal and Eastern Cape

Following a period of time with a number of medical schemes and administrators, Richard established the Healthcare Consulting practice in KZN for First Bowring Consulting and Actuarial Services, before going on to establish and manage the healthcare consulting office of AON Consulting in Durban for a period of six years.

Richard’s regional responsibilities were extended in 2009 to include the NMG Eastern Cape operation, based in Port Elizabeth. Richard continues to manage the KZN and Eastern Cape Healthcare business units and is operationally and strategically engaged with all corporate clients.

Richard is accredited with the Council for Medical Schemes as a broker, has a Diploma in Marketing Management and attained the National Wealth qualification from Universal Health Care. Richard has a certificate in the Fundamentals of Health Insurance through the Health Insurance Association of America and is a member of the Financial Planning Institute. Richard completed the FAIS Regulatory Examination for both Key Individuals and Representatives as required by the Financial Services Board and has more than two decades of experience in the healthcare industry.


Grant Olivier

Head: Corporate Communication & Marketing

Location: Johannesburg

Grant has more than two decades of employee benefits consulting experience. His career commenced in the medical scheme administrator space where he fulfilled various roles including client service, Corporate Relations Consulting and New Business Development.

In 2005, Grant ventured into the intermediary environment when he joined NMG as a Senior Healthcare Consultant. Subsequent positions within NMG include Principal Healthcare Consultant, Consulting Manager and Regional Director: Healthcare. Grant is now responsible for the communication & marketing strategy and implementation for NMG Benefits.

Grant completed his B.Soc.Sc Degree in Marketing & Psychology from the University of Natal in 1994. He holds various industry-related qualifications including a National Certificate in Wealth Management and the FAIS Regulatory Examination for Representatives. He is also accredited with the Council for Medical Schemes and is a member of the Financial Planning Institute.


Natasha Huggett – Henchie

Executive Head: Actuarial and Pensions Consulting

Location: Cape Town

Natasha has 24 years’ experience in Employee Benefits. She is an approved Pensions Valuator of defined benefit and defined contribution funds and has specialist pension’s knowledge relating to all aspects of funding for retirement arrangements, surplus and other legislative work, and accounting for pensions in employer financial statements.

She has been involved extensively with consulting to trustees and employers on all aspects relating to their retirement funding arrangements for the past seventeen years since joining NMG. Natasha is also the Chairperson of the Retirement Matters Committee of the Actuarial Society of Southern Africa.
