Purpose of the Job:

The senior consultant will consult to a portfolio of clients and needs to be abreast of legislative developments, provide appropriate advice to their clients and ensure the smooth running of their portfolio of funds.

Best Practice
  • Ensure that NMG Best Practice is implemented within the client base
  • Assist in the formulation of NMG best practice, and work on consulting projects
  • Ensure commissions are being paid correctly and on time
  • Identify cross sell opportunities and support KAM within the branch
  • Support retaliation strategy
  • Foster a good working relationship with clients, staff, manager, internal divisions and colleagues
  • Attend training sessions scheduled by NMG or external providers
  • Develop and maintain relationships with clients
Client Relationship Management
  • Set an annual year plan/ client plan per fund and arrange trustee/ management committee meetings and other fund activities and ensuring that this is adhered to
  • Provision of appropriate advice, excellent client service and project management of critical fund events to ensure the smooth running of the fund
  • Effective management of service providers and adherence to NMG standard operating procedures and best practice
  • Be able to autonomously run with the client portfolio
  • Ensure trustee/ management committee meeting packs are distributed to clients on time and comply with NMG Best Practice
  • Complete timesheets within the required timeframe
  • Attend regular meetings with administrators/service providers regarding status of funds
  • Prepare and compile reports as required
  • Attend trustee/ management committee meetings and other adhoc meetings as required
  • Ensure accurate minutes at trustee/ management committee meetings are taken and ensure that they are distributed within one week to all participants (or other agreed deadline)
  • Monitor action items from trustee/ management committee meeting minutes and all other documentation to ensure deadline compliance
  • Ensure accurate and complete Section 14 checklists are submitted to legal on time
  • Prepare and compile material for road shows
  • Perform any related duties as requested by management.

Minimum Qualification
  • Wealth management/ appropriate Degree (NQF Level 8) / RPL validated by SAQA will be considered
  • CFP added advantage (3 years to get one if not certified)
  • Over 5 years’ experience
  • Passion for technical issues and industry developments
  • Good attention to detail
  • Excellent implementation and organisational skills
  • Good people skills
  • Good understanding of the business
